Laura Fowler is the managing partner of The Fowler Law Firm, P.C.

Laura Fowler founded The Fowler Law Firm PC 2007 with eight associated attorneys. The firm has doubled in size since 2007. Frank Newton Pro Bono Legal Services Award, Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent Designation, Austin Business Journal Top Pro Bono Law Firms and designations as a top law firm diversity employer in Austin.

In 2020, Laura founded and now chairs Fowler Family Foundation, a public tax-exempt charitable corporation that gives generously to a number of scholarship and internship programs in the Austin areas. Laura regularly provides pro bono legal services and gives of her time and resources to a very diverse group of local charities who meet many otherwise unmet needs through Austin Bar Association Veterans Pro Bono Legal Clinic, Austin Bar Association Loving It Lawyers Club, Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts, Austin History Center Association, Preservation Austin, Austin Museum Partnership, Peace Park Conservancy, The Foundation for the Preservation of the Historic Millett Opera House, Inc. and to many chambers of commerce and trade associations who operate a foundation or charity.

Laura has received a Member of the Year designation from Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, The Austin Club and Williamson County Realtors Association.

Graduating from Baylor University School of Law in 1979, Laura began her career as a very green Lieutenant Junior Grade in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corp aboard the warship USS Guadalcanal in 1980. Chasing saboteurs and scoundrels through exotic ports in East Asia and the Western Pacific, Laura quickly developed fierce patriotism and a much deeper appreciation for how remarkable our United States Constitution and our nation really are, and gratitude for the opportunities our great nation affords.

Since returning to Texas in 1983, Laura has confined herself to avenging and defending the rights of many business entities, charitable institutions and individuals in the state and federal courts of Texas. Her greatest calling, however, is to design strategies to help her client to avoid ever seeing the inside of a courthouse.

GIVING FEELS GREAT
One of the most moving and rewarding experiences any lawyer in Austin can have is to participate in the monthly Austin Bar Association Veterans Legal Clinic. Attorneys who really care about our veterans volunteer their time. Veterans and their families are served at no charge, often by some of the most talented lawyers in Austin. Featured here are a military family including Lady the Support Dog, her doting masters, clients of the clinic, Veterans Legal Clinic Director Doug Lawrence and Laura Fowler, who participates and is very proud to own and manage the largest 100 percent veteran owned general civil law firm in Austin.
