Formed November 1, 2020, Fowler Family Foundation is a Texas nonprofit organization and IRS tax exempt public charitable corporation. Its bylaws authorize a broad and diverse range of charitable activities. At this time, gifts are made to qualified charitable organizations who serve the needs of local beneficiaries.

LAURA SANDERS FOWLER

Founding Chair, Fowler Family Foundation, award winning for her professional accomplishments, Laura takes greatest delight in teaching the principles of charitable leadership that cause organizations to thrive. She considers Giving Feels Great™ the culmination of a long career in which she counseled and defended many wonderful charitable and civic leaders.

June 29, 2023 Loving It Lawyers Club a practice section of Austin Bar Association which Laura founded in 2016 and still chairs, was joined by Travis County District Judge Karin Crump and District Clerk Velva Price for a presentation about the amazing resources available to all at Travis County’s beautiful new Civil and Family Courts Facility.

2nd Quarter 2023 Meeting of Austin Museum Partnership was hosted by Fowler Family Foundation at Historic Millett’s Opera House. Laura serves as pro bono legal counsel and eagerly gave all of the directors of some of Austin’s most prestigious galleries, libraries, archives and museums, a memorable tour and a personal introduction to Millett’s Opera House most famous resident, Priscilla the Ghost, who allegedly has resided on the third floor of Millett’s Opera house for almost 150 years.

JOHN G. PEARCE

Jointly licensed as an attorney and CPA in four states, many in Austin turn to John for his skill and experience in tax, business and charitable organization law. John’s impressive history of service through charitable and civic organizations is well known in the Austin area. John serves as director and Treasurer of Fowler Family Foundation at this time.

John’s favorite charity is Angel Flight Central Southwest, which transports critically ill and medically fragile patients as well as blood and medicines to and from remote locations to major medical centers. John flew this Angel Flight beneficiary from a remote area of Texas to Houston to enable the patient to receive some of the best medical care in the world and then return to the comfort of his home in the same day. https://www.angelflightsc.org/




 

CINDY SMILEY

A distinguished environmental and water law attorney, Cindy Smiley serves as a director, grant writer and editor for the Fowler Family Foundation. Cindy often says her years of working with wonderful colleagues for a major corporation, a state agency and Austin law firms enabled her to form Smiley Law Firm in 2012.

With the new firm, Cindy began training as a puppy raiser for future service dogs. She has continued to volunteer for organizations that provide service dogs at no charge to persons with disabilities. Cindy is a passionate advocate for the protection of service dogs and service dogs in training and their important roles in society. DAVID S. OLIVER

A decorated United States Marine Corps veteran, licensed as an attorney in Texas for two decades, with an LLM , David Oliver is an accomplished and extremely popular probate and estate planning lawyer.

David also finds time to contribute to many charitable and civic organizations. ROBERT S. HOOFMAN

An accomplished creditor’s rights and bankruptcy attorney, jointly licensed in Texas and Florida, Robert has been active in many civic and charitable organizations his entire professional life. Robert graciously donates all his time serving as Chief Executive Officer.


Robert delights in service to his Rotary Club, Northwest Austin Rotary Club, serving on the speakers committee and personally inviting local charitable leaders whose marvelous and unique missions include preservation of bats, human treatment of cats, conservation of mermaid habitat ( the San Marcos River) as well as more traditional arts and preservation societies in Austin. https://www.nwaustinrotary.org/
