We believe strongly in supporting our veteran population. Military service is difficult, demanding, and dangerous. But returning to civilian life also poses challenges for the women and men who have served in the armed forces. According to a Pew Research Center survey, veterans who served since September 11, 2001 have a more difficult time readjusting to civilian life. This creates many complex legal challenges for Texas Veterans and their families – including those related to military benefits, federal and state public benefits and disability benefits. Common legal issues include family, employment and housing law, consumer protection, bankruptcy, probate expunction and Military discharge upgrades.

Veterans are always welcome at The Fowler Law Firm. Our commitment is to do all we can to satisfy your legal needs, or refer to you quality resources and individuals who can.

"I was deeply moved by the diversity of legal needs of the military members and their families."
– Laura Fowler

Veterans Legal Assistance Program

The Austin Bar Foundation has expanded the services provided to veterans thanks to a grant from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. In addition to the Free Legal Advice Clinics for Veterans, the Austin Bar Association can now provide free legal advice over the phone to eligible veterans, assist with minor legal issues, and provide these services to veterans in areas surrounding Travis County. Applicants must complete an intake to see if they qualify for services.

Monthly legal advice clinics are held at the Austin VA Outpatient Clinic located at 7901 Metropolis Drive, Austin TX 78744. Legal advice clinics are also held in surrounding counties.
