We are pleased to announce that Tom O'Meara, Senior Attorney at The Fowler Law Firm in Austin, has been chosen as local host for the annual Face-to-Face Meeting Malawi (Africa) Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church (USA) which will be held in Austin in August 2011.

Daniel M. Kowalski, an immigration attorney at The Fowler Law Firm, has been selected to serve on the faculty of "Immigration in the Heartland," a journalism fellowship taking place in Norman, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas, from March 5-12, 2011. Kowalski, who has over 25 years experience in all facets of immigration law, was named a "Senior Fellow" by the Institute for Justice Journalism. In addition to moderating panels and providing overall coordination, Kowalski will present his "Immigration 101" lecture to the 15 journalists and 6 journalism students at the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication and its Institute for Research and Training. "Immigration in the Heartland" is funded by a grant from the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation.

We are pleased to announce that John Pearce has just learned he is to receive the highest award of the Capitol Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, the Silver Beaver Award. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it.
