marilyn-poole-bioA remarkable blend of old Austin and new, Marilyn Poole is a true multi-generational Austinite who graduated from Reagan High School (1971), Austin College (1974), and University of Texas Law School (1977). Marilyn has spent the last four decades of her celebrated career giving abundantly to others legally and personally. A tireless champion of professional and community causes, she currently serves as a director of the Austin Bar Foundation, and is active in a number of Downtown and East Austin organizations, including Ebenezer Third Baptist Church.

Marilyn brings to her practice a diverse background of public, private, and administrative law practice, succeeding first as a Texas Assistant Attorney General, then in private practice. She presently serves the legal needs of a a diverse group of individuals and small business owners in practically every industry for which Austin is famous, with strong emphasis on the local hospitality scene.

Marilyn considers her greatest challenge and success to be that of having been a loving and supportive Mom. “Raising children who are intelligent, inquisitive, sensitive and responsible is the hardest job that anyone will ever tackle, but I have loved every minute; well……almost.”

That love and patience translates into deeply caring and attentive service to her clients. Whether business owners or individuals, whether prosperous or distressed economically, Marilyn loves and tends to them all attentively and effectively with abundant kindness, creativity and impressive outcome. “She’s a tiger with a smile…” reads one of her favorite testimonials.

Now associated with a larger team of accomplished attorneys, her capacities have expanded, but her very hands on, attentive, loving approach to her clients has not diminished. “Association with my new firm’s group of lawyers expands my ability to efficiently serve our clients’ needs, but I remain the Commander in Chief. It may be business, but it remains PERSONAL to me!”

Marilyn’s mantra and mission: “Nothing but the love of God beats a gathering of close friends and family at a table of good wine and great food.”

“I made a smart call, to recommend Marilyn to The Childrens Haven Association board of directors.  From day one, she has aggressively and passionately provided new ideas for our operations and pursued solutions to our problems.
